Getting my mind in the game...

... is unexpectedly hard this tournament around.

I'm dealing with an enormous amount of stress at work, for one thing. I am first chair on a week-long hearing. First chair means I'm the boss at least in name. I love being in charge, but I fear I haven't done as much as I'd like. In part that's because this hearing was assigned a date extremely quickly, so we've been running nonstop to finish the investigation (still, there's so much more we could do if we had time) and get the information to our experts. Our experts are amazing, professional, and so smart.

But this whole work thing is really getting in the way of my training, haha. I guess I'm just whining.

I'm all packed, for Dallas tomorrow through Sunday morning, and for Beaumont, Sunday through Friday. If you see a redhead in a purple gi, that's me. For the hearing, I've packed my lucky suits, my silver heart bracelet, and all that's left is to be ready on the argument side of things.

Wish me luck. I definitely feel like I need it.

Don't forget to wear a rashguard under your suit. ;)

Good luck, with both the hearing and the tournament. :)

No doubt you're first chair for good reason. Thanks to folks like you, the hard work that's done by folks like me doesn't go to waste.

Hey, thank you Conan. Whether you're LE, a prosecutor, or a CO... I know that the hard work you do is underappreciated by the general public and underpaid compared to the effort and risk involved. It's all for the best though. Just wanted you to know that it IS valued and appreciated.

Added your blog to my list :)

I want a pic of your purple gi :)

You know it girl-- I must say I rocked that purple gi! I got a lot of positive comments about it, many people asked where it's from, and even refs were jamming on it. For the record, google Badgerland Jiu Jitsu in Madison Wisconsin... tell Mark you heard about it here on Georgette in Texas' blog!

Anyway I will post footage and stills in a week or so when I get back from the hearing.

Also, fyi, saw a kid in a sage green gi and she told me she dyed it. So I am going to have one white gi (my pink & white Keiko) and I'm dyeing all the rest... peach! emerald! mint! yellow!

YEAH!
